In 2000, the City of Ionia received a grant to install 4 new civil defense sirens.  The sirens have been strategically placed in an attempt to assure that everyone in the community will be able to hear them.  The sirens are tested at noon on the first Saturday of each month.  Should you hear the sirens during adverse weather conditions, you should seek shelter immediately.
