Working for you to maintain our city streets and public facilities.

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining over 26 miles of City streets. The work is not confined to any one season; rather, crews are constantly working on and in the streets to maintain their excellent condition.

The Department oversees the maintenance of all city parks, public open spaces, streets, the Grand Rivertrail, as well as provides assistance to all city departments. The Department maintain more than 600 decorative turn-of the century style street lights and helps decorate the city during seasonal promotions. In addition to overseeing the maintenance of streets, The Department keeps Ionia neat and orderly and  is dedicated to offering high quality.
